When the Oscar nominees were announced yesterday (January 23rd) one name stuck out in particular. With her 21st nomination, Meryl Streep broke her own Oscar record for most nominations *emoji clap x 100*

We decided to celebrate her impressive achievement by remembering some of our favourite Meryl Moments over the years.

Scroll through to take a trip down Meryl-mory (sorry, had to) lane:

1. When she won her first Oscar in 1980

Her first words at the podium were “Holy Mackerel.”

2. When she was just as adorable accepting her second Oscar in 1983

She was so flustered that she dropped her acceptance speech.

3.  When she negotiated for double her pay for ‘Devil Wears Prada’ in 2006

“The offer was to my mind slightly, if not insulting, not perhaps reflective of my actual value to the project,” Streep told Variety. “There was my ‘goodbye moment,’ and then they doubled the offer. I was 55, and I had just learned, at a very late date, how to deal on my own behalf.”

4. When she was the Barnard Commencement Speaker in 2010

She empowered the all-female graduating class by saying, “This is your time and it feels normal to you but really there is no normal. There’s only change, and resistance to it and then more change.”

5. When she became American Vogue’s oldest Covergirl in January 2012

At 62 years old Meryl showed us that beauty knows no age by becoming a Vogue Covergirl.

6. When she shimmied with Pharrel at the 2014 Oscars

We’ve known Meryl to be a true Dancing Queen since Mamma Mia, but she reminded us in the best way possible at the 2014 Oscars.

7. When Barack Obama presented her with the Presidential Medal of Freedom

She received the nation’s highest honour alongside Stevie Wonder and Ethel Kennedy.

8. When she made Mark Ruffalo swoon on The Graham Norton Show

Don’t worry Mark, we’d lose our cool too!

9. When her reaction to Patricia Arquette’s acceptance speech at the 2015 Oscars was all of us

We’re just as enthusiastic as Meryl when it comes to gender equality.

10. When she delivered the most inspirational speech at the 2017 Golden Globes

Her eloquent address went viral and scored support from Ellen DeGeneres and Laverne Cox among others.
