Just like your sex-ed teacher always says: Wrap it up!
Surprise! It’s a do-it-yourself prophylactic post! Just kidding. Although safe sex is no joke. {Awkward pause}
So this month I’m going to teach you how to make a wrap bracelet. You know I like to recycle items because me and mother earth are crazy tight, so everything you need for this DIY you will be able to find around your house, or purchase for small change at your local thrift store.
WHAT YOU NEED
- A needle and thread.
- A piece of material, in a colour or with a print you like. I used a chiffon scarf.
- A chain, cut into two pieces. You can recycle old necklaces, buy vintage or thrift, or purchase new ones for this project at a craft store. I used a broken purse strap. Whatever you use, make sure it still has a jump loop and lobster clasp attached, so you can close your bracelet.

STEP ONE
Cut a long strip of your fabric, as seen in photo 1 below. It needs to be long enough to wrap around your wrist a few times.
STEP TWO
Fold your strip of fabric so the cut parts or the hem of the fabric are on the inside, and iron each fold so the fabric stays flat (see photo 2 below).

STEP THREE
When your fabric is at it’s desired width (see photo 3 above: mine is about an inch wide) iron it a few times over to ensure that it is flat.
STEP FOUR
Using your needle and thread, sew your chains to each end of the long strip of fabric, and seen in photo 4 above. Whichever side of the fabric will be facing up, is the side you don’t want to sew your chains to. Also, make sure you sew the end of the chain that does not have the jump loop or lobster clasp (common sense, I know. But I’m just sayin’).

STEP FIVE – Take yo’ wrist and wrap it up!
