A roundup of the freshest faces and best beauty looks from the Fashion Week runways.
Now that Fashion Week is behind us, it’s time to sit back, examine, and reflect, wouldn’t you say?
This Fashion Week was delightfully filled with unique and exciting faces and makeup. Some looks simply kooky – others totally wearable.
Let’s have a look:
BERRY LIPS at DONNA KARAN NEW YORK & JUAN CARLOS OBANDO

Totally easy to wear, and actually quite perfect for fall. Keep the rest of your face clean and understated. Avoid looking like a bad ass chick from the Moulin Rouge.
MOD EYES at HONOR
We have an undying affection for Twiggy. And a lingering fascination with Alex from A Clockwork Orange. That said, it’s clear why this look has a special spot in our hearts. Wearability? Debatable. But definitely not out of the question.
BOLD RED LIPS at JASON WU & ANNA SUI

This look isn’t new on our radars. In fact, we’re practicing the bold red lip as we type. While Jason Wu’s model looks like she’s fallen face first in a bucket of baby powder – we’ve opted to go for a more alive look like Anna Sui’s.
Sequin turband: optional recommended.
BLUSHED UP at KAREN WALKER

A perfect spring look – this one’s something to look forward to for when the weather lightens up again. We know it’s barely even fall. But fashion is always pushing us on to the next, ya know? Worry not, though, chilly fall weather will rosy up your cheeks anyhow. How’s that for a positive spin?
ALL NATURAL at NICHOLAS K & MAISONETTE

Au natural always seems like the easiest look to pull off. But, as we’re sure you all know, it’s difficulty is highly overlooked. Models and on-screen starlets spend loads of time getting their faces perfect by the most tactful artistes – just to make it look like they’re not wearing an ounce of makeup. To help get this super-flawless look, try Clean & Clear ® Invisible Blemish Treatment. Fights pimples all day and smoothes invisibly into your skin, so you can even wear it under makeup.
UNDERSTATED ACCENTS at NICOLE MILLER & COSTELLO TAGLIAPIETRA

This one’s our favourite of the bunch. A subtle shadow, neutral (but noticeable) lip, and defined cheeks – you’re good to go. Pretty and polished and perfect, even for fall.
ORCHID POUTS at PRABAL GURUNG

If any of you are brave enough to try this one at home – we’ll bow down to you. For Prabal Gurung’s Spring 2012 show, makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury wanted “To complement the beautiful fuchsias and purples in [Prabal’s] floral-inspired collection,” with “an orchid-like effect for the lip,” Cool? Yeah. Wearable? Not really. Head turning? For sure.
PURPLES & BLUES at RICHARD CHAI

Although these lip colours may seem completely insane, we’ve seen them done before, and they can definitely be done right. As with any bold coloured lip – do us a favour, and keep the rest of your face natural. Maybe not the best look for meeting your boyfriend’s parents – but if you do it right, hopefully you won’t be instilling fear in passersby.
