Whitney Port showed her Whitney Eve Fall/Winter 2012 collection to a packed and most likely hungover crowd at the Lincoln Center, bright and early yesterday morning. 9 AM! It was cruel, but totally worth it, if not just for the people watching. Tyson Beckford! Front row! Other attendees included Coco Rocha, Nigel Barker, Adrienne Baillon, and Angela Simmons. I’m so intrigued as to why Tyson Beckford attended her show. Is this romantic? If so, it’s a major upgrade from the wieners she dated on The City. And did you know that Tyson Beckford has his own name tattooed on his shoulder? Is this because he’s dumb and can’t remember it, or is his ego really that big? I have so many questions.
For her Fall 2012 collection, Whitney took inspiration from an antique kaleidoscope she found on her Grandmother’s coffee table. She used graphic shapes, jewel tones, shattered prints, and luxe fabrics to create a collection for “the girl on the go.”
As a major print whore fan, I particularly enjoyed the unique prints featured on peplum blouses, tapered and wide leg pants, soft tailoring, and casual suiting. Staying true to her feminine aesthetic, she also included cocktail dresses showcasing geometric beading, wrap dresses in textured, patterned velvet, and heavily embellished cocktail shorts to give eveningwear a youthful kick.
What do you think of Whitney Eve?
