Leigh Lezark is my ultimate girl crush. Like I’ve written before on Urbanebloc, I’ve always imagined that if a vampire and Karl Lagerfield made babies, she would be it. Fair skin, pitch black hair, strong cheek bones and an aura of mystery. Her stare is magnetizing and dark, a much needed foil to the bubble gum of young Hollywood starlets. While fashion icons Alexa Chung is the epitome of preppy tomboy, Leigh is feminine punk.
Leigh is one-third of New York based DJ trio, The Misshapes. And through her DJ’ing gigs I had the opportunity to meet her in person. She was surprisingly petite, but expectedly decked out head-to-toe in black lace. Smokin’. While I am not familiar with her mixing (which I am told is really great as well), I am devoted to her polished underground fashion sensibilities.
As a child of the nightlife, Leigh may not be a household name just yet, but she has been on the fashion radar for quite sometime. Her personal style is so glamourous and dark it is hard not to stare.
Lush Pleated Maxi Skirt
This yellow maxi skirt is a casual, daytime interpretation of Leigh’s dress. It is elegant, cool, and channeling some of the mustard maxi feel from Lezark’s look at the CFDA. Though it is not quite as elegant, it is ideal for the summer, and a great way to turn heads in the hot hot heat.
Matthew Williamson Feather Dress
Natalie Portman might have danced her way to an Oscar, Leigh Lezark is both the white and black swan. She is able to transform her look to lighter fare and this great feather dress is a elegant and appropriate for a fashion night out. The metallic shimmer of this dress keeps it within the Leigh comfort zone, shining a bit like lights at a club…no classier, like crystals on a gothic chandelier.
Graphic Tee + A.P.C. Mini Skirt
All fashion snobs throw your hands in the air!! Oliver Theysken spotted on Leigh Lezark at his first Theory show as a cute tribute. Though we’re not all going to wear his face on our shirts, a nice graphic tee is a staple- paired with a mini skirt and ankle boots. A cool tee by Theory, or Alexander Wang would drape just right.

This collarless blazer is perfectly tailored and a great look for the spring and looks like a jacket that can be worn effortlessly or styled a la Lezark with a patterned dress and sky high black Louboutins.
RIGHT: Yigal Azrouel Lambskin Jacket
I get that few of us are going to lay down the big bucks for a leather jacket, but this two tone aysemmetrical hem jacket is so unique and fashionably grungy. The creme color keeps the look interesting, styled with a sheer black top, shorts and edgy sandals.
Nightcap Clothing One-sleeve dress
Leigh Lezark keeps it sexy in tight, lacy black dresses and minimal accessories and makeup. Her signature black hair and fair skin always leaves and impression. Plus, this dress is hot hot hot. Perfect for a night out, or to DJ.
LEFT: Pierre Hardy Two-Toned Heels
These heels might also channel ‘beetle-juice’ I love the contrast of the black and white with the ankle strap. It is just eerie enough to appear in a Tim Burton movie, yet cool enough to feel like a pair of Dries Van Notens!
RIGHT: Zara High-Heeled Sandal With Buckles
I have been lusting after these snakeskin wonders for ages. Paired with dark sunglasses, a loose fitting tee, dark wash skinny jeans… yes, please.
