Fashion often inspires movies. Movies often inspire fashion. Check out our favourite picks from both ends of the spectrum.
BLACK SWAN

When Black Swan fever hit, you couldn’t escape tutus and leotards. Everything was ballet themed from nail polish to music video movies a-la-Kanye West.
THE ARTIST

This silent killer (lolz pun) came and swept all the awards away, and the flapper style was a hit – as seen in Ralph Lauren and Gucci spring runways.
Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland

Amanda Seyfried in Vogue Italia April 08 was a precursor to the film but we wouldn’t be surprised if they took notes while making the movie. It has also been said that Burton’s film inspired the Versace ss10 collection seen above.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

The moody rocker/goth thing became a hit with Rooney Mara’s seamless portrayal of Lisbeth Salander in the American adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. H&M even devoted a collection to it, tres bien!
Midnight In Paris

We already showed you flapper fashions with The Artist, but Midnight in Paris is a definite honourable mention.
