BEAUTY TREND TO TRY: Runway Inspired Graphic Eyeliner

If clothing is an extension of art, then the way in which you cake your face with makeup really can’t be too far off. Much like a bold outfit makes you exude confidence, bold makeup gives you the hypothetic ability to say “I’m a badass, don’t mess with me.”

And no, we’re not talking about makeup to Taylor-Momsen-I’m-A-Badass calibers here, but rather, super chic ways to add some pizzazz to your face. If liquid eyeliner is already your best friend, then you should have no problem adapting these fun-filled eyeliner ideas into your daily makeup routine. Yes, some of them are a bit more labour intensive than others, but all-in-all, they all look simple enough.

So, to capitalize on the entire ~makeup is art~ thing, here is a carefully curated collection of our favourite eyeliner looks straight from the ~runway~ for your convenience.

At Mary Katrantzou

If you wake up feeling particularly interesting, feel free to draw various triangle-type shapes around your eyes with liquid eyeliner. It will really make your eyes *pop*.

At John Richmond

Update the age-old “cat eye” trick with these super dramatic looks. Keep your eye open while you pencil in a light line from the outer edge of your brow to the outer corner your your eye. Fill in with liquid eyeliner, just as you would for your normal cat eye look.

At Moschino

The most socially acceptable version of Taylor Momson’s notorious eyeliner. Use a gel liner and a contouring brush to line your eyelid, and then take black eyeshadow and line underneath your water line. Wing out and blendblendblend, because we can already tell that this has the potential to go horribly wrong.

At Erdem

If you like fun triangles, this is the look for you. While keeping your eye open, draw a small triangle right above the edge of your eyelid – winged out as you would if you were to be drawing a cat eye.

TOOLS

Two waterproof liners that we quite like, for your eye-drawing needs:

Cheapy: Maybelline Lineworks Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner (Approx. $10)

Not-so-cheapy: MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack ($15) + Precise Eyeliner Brush ($18)
