If the MTV VMAs had happened last night, there would be no shortage of pop stars wearing actual objects as clothing costumes. Cue Lady Gaga wearing steak, Nicki Minaj wearing candy (or something), etc.
But, the MTV Movie Awards happened last night. And since actors, apparently, aren’t so into spectacle, we were forced to use our imaginations. So, here are a number of last night’s red carpet ensembles that bore a striking resemblance to other things. Like the top half of Emma Stone’s dress, which looks a helluvalot like the Wu Tang symbol (and we kind of really wish it actually was).

If someone made fireworks out of lava (and someone probably should), it would look like Mila Kunis’ dress. This is a fact.

Here is Kat Graham right-legging it like Anja Rubik, who right-legged it like Angeline Jolie. Kat Graham, are you trying to become an internet meme?

Janelle Monae = Fred Astaire. But that’s the point. That’s the point, right?

Jessica Biel‘s sleeves look like bleached armadillos. In case you didn’t believe us (and we figured you might not), we crafted the image on the right.

Nate Ruess, of the band fun., wears too-short-pants and suspenders like Urkel, back in the day. Dude, why are your pants so short, though?

Crystal Reed‘s ~shiny~ dress is a distant relative of this French Louis XV chest of drawers. This is also a fact.

Jackson Rathbone is a blueprint. And who allowed this to happen?

Christina Ricci’s dress bears a resemblance to Derrick Zoolander’s Derelicte collection. But then, while searching for an image of the real thing, we found this guy‘s costume and it’s so much better.

Josh Hutcherson and Pete Doherty are twinsies. And maybe, one day, Josh will get to date Kate Moss, too.

The Black Keys wore the same onesies as Hannah and Adam on last night’s episode of Girls. And that, dear friends, is called synchronicity.

Elizabeth Banks and Amber Rose wore outfits that certainly resemble other non-clothing objects. But we can’t figure them out. So if you know, please share!
