If your blog feed is overflowing with pictures of inspirational ladies wearing inspirational clothing in inspirational ways, it’s only natural to be envious…
In recent years, style blogging has exploded into a mass-cultural onslaught of streetstyle/editorial hybrids, all with an inherent fixation on the most beautiful and personal aspects of fashion. From the age of 11 to 60, bloggers worldwide are documenting their style by following a rigorous picture-taking routine, uploading image after image of content meant to ~inspire~. I know it may seem daunting to embark on such a scary and dime-a-dozen internet endeavor, but fear not… because it’s fun!
In order to stand out, you must first master the basics. So here is a list, from one blogger to another, to guide you on your way to becoming the *best* fashion blogger you can be.

1 ) Look to Carolina and Mattias, Betty and Mathieu, and Rumi and Colin Bryanboy, to understand that acquiring a photographer boyfriend is of the utmost importance. If this is impossible, you can always always train him to be your photo monkey.

2 ) Master your ability to walk fashionably for motion shots. In case you’re wondering, this entails: taking long deliberate strides, plastering a nonchalant expression on your face, and casually cradling your bag. Hair blowing in the wind is optional.

3 ) Look moody and ethereal at all times. Smiling is not prohibited. You are only entitled to make goofy faces if your name is Tavi.

4 ) Don’t (always) listen to Nati Hell from Fashion Bloggers, Why!? because it will probably lower your self-confidence. Especially if your name is Jane.

5 ) Have an endless supply of bracelets for an endless amount of #armparty © fun!!!!!!!! Note the copyright symbol!!!! I’m sorry Leandra!!!!

6 ) For optimal visual interest, mix your prints. Minimum 3 per outfit. Throwing a galaxy print in there will earn you +10 blogger bonus points.

7 ) Master the art of hand placement posing. Can go as follows: on top of head, on hip, on side of head, on neck, on back of head. Look off into the distance so you look natural and not too posed.

8 ) Do not limit your posts to things pertaining to your face. You must also master the art of food and travel photography. The occasional carbon copy style.com review is also widely accepted.

9 ) Because social media is pretty much everything, ensure that you have an #instagram account, a #bloglovin feed, and a #facebook fan page.

10 ) Lastly, having a wide variety of sunglasses is useful when you need to shield your face from UV rays etc. You’ll find in many cases, standing in direct sunlight is unavoidable and in order to keep up your facade, you must block your eyes. After all, squinty eyes do not equate to moody and ethereal.
