In California, particularity Santa Monica, I stumbled upon a few places that I think would make wonderful contributions to the Canadian shopping scene.
Planet Blue remains true to the laidback vibe of Southern California. Here’s where you find your flowy blouses, and maxi dresses that are perfect for a day at the beach. Planet Blue is the place to find clothes that are both relaxed and on trend. Or as their website says, a place “where surf and stars blend in casual harmony.” I don’t know what that means, but I do feel more relaxed saying it!
If vintage tees and trucker hats are your thing – Aviator Nation is your store. Here you will find casual hoodies, tees and beach bags decorated with the company’s signature rainbow stripe design. Aviator Nation’s casual wear is a favourite among ~celebrities~ such as Jake Gyllenhaal and Kristen Stewart.
If you’re a guilty culprit of exploring Tumblr during those deadly three-hour lectures, LF is the store for you. I like to call it The Shop For All Things Tumblr. Studded denim, neon pants and tie-die everything is what this store is all about. Their ripped, studded and bleached items appear DIY in nature but certainly aren’t DIY in price.
