Every year as summer bids us a fond farewell, fall rolls around and sweeps us off our leather boots. Tis’ the season for warm drinks, pumpkin flavoured treats, falling leaves, and knitted head accessories (they’re cute ok?). Here are the ten best things about the season. LET’S ALL FALL IN LOVE WITH FALL!
Fashion Week

Every fall, the fashion folk gather around the tents to welcome the upcoming Spring/Summer collections from designers worldwide. From New York to London, fall is the season to see what’s in season, next season. Basically it’s just a really fashionable time in the world of fashion.
Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes

Seriously, whoever invented Pumpkin Spice Lattes was a GENIUSSSSS (to be said in an excited Oprah voice). The return of the fall drink is such a monumental event that Starbucks holds an annual contest to see what city gets to lap up this addictive beverage for a week before the rest of the world does. The blend of pumpkin + spice + expresso = caffeinated perfection. But like all good things, these delicious drinks come to an end when the season does, so it is imperative to drink up while your favourite barista is still pumpin’ em out.
Halloween

Who doesn’t love Halloween? Halloween is the only day of the year when you have a valid reason to dress up like ANYTHING YOU WANT! Of course I believe you should rock whichever outfit you fancy on every other day of the year, but on October 31st you can look cray cray and no one can say nay nay.
The Air
Fall smells a certain way; it isn’t as sweaty as summer or as floral as spring. It smells fresh. And crisp. And like pumpkin. The cool clean air of fall is a distinctive seasonal characteristic that I wish could be bottled up and sold as a fragrance at Sephora.
Thanksgiving

Fall is the season for over-eating, and there ain’t nothing wrong with that! Having a yearly holiday where the main purpose of the celebration is to get together with relatives and eat copious amounts of turkey sounds like true quality family time to me! Throw some stuffing and mash potatoes into the mix, and you’re on your way to passing out in a hedonistic food coma.
New Seasons of Your Favourite TV Shows

The onset of fall means that your fave TV shows on summer hiatus are now back with fresh, new seasons, so no longer are you stuck watching re-runs of last year’s Jersey Shore episodes! Fall signals the return of golden prime-time fodder that you can’t imagine how you functioned a full season without. Jersey Shore is back October 4th… and… anyone else excited for new Storage Wars?
The Clothing

Fall fashion is arguably the best season of the year. With warm, cosy knit scarfs, dark, tall leather boots and oversized wooly sweaters, fall is the perfect time to layer clothing before winter arrives and forces you to dress in Canada Goose (no offense).
Sleeping In (On Weekends)
Sleeping in during the breezy fall months feels AMAZING!! There is some tranquil aroma that is released into air during the fall months that knocks you out and makes you sleep like a baby. I swear, it’s true.
Oktoberfest

From the country that brought you the Volkswagen and stein glass, Oktoberfest originally begun as a way to salute Bavarian culture. This wonderfully traditional festival of beer and schnitzel consumption may just be the only frat party in the world that people of all age groups can enjoy.
The Weather
As seasons change from summer to fall, the cooling temperature leaves the air feeling crisp, and the nights feeling fresher. Fall weather is an ideal balance between warm, sunny days, and chilly, brisk evenings. It’s cold enough to turn off that AC, but not too cold to shut your windows. What I mean is: it’s perfect.
