Dressing as the characters from the Wes Anderson comedy The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou is the perfect solution to your costume clan problems. This guide will tell you how to get outfitted as the deep-sea crew in a ~simple yet effective~ way. STEVE ZISSOU

Dressing as the Steve Zissou is incredibly easy. To complete this look you only need a few things; a red hat, a blue short-sleeved shirt, and matching blue pants. If you are really on a budget and time constraint, a pair of light blue scrubs will do just the trick. If you want to go *overboard*, a pair of plastic rimmed glasses will give your costume that extra ~pizzazz~.
NED PLIMPTON

To dress as Ned Plimpton, you can do one of two things; wear the team Zissou uniform (see above for details), or rock a navy pilot suit. If you choose to do the latter, you will require navy dress pants, a blazer and a pilot’s hat. A pressing desire to fall in love and find your father won’t hurt either.

To pull off Jane Winslett-Richardson you will need to don some serious safari-like outdoorsy gear. With an army green or camel coloured utility jacket and tan shirt, you are already well on your way to embodying the British reporter. A French braid and portable tape recorder are also a must.

Eleanor Zissou is a character that is best reserved for a serious friend that already has long dark hair and straight-cut bangs. To complete this look you will need a white peasant-type blouse, turquoise jewelry, blue pants and a FAUX cigarette (because smoking is bad!). A nonchalant expression and deep seeded love for Zissou is also mandatory.

The beauty of dressing as the cast of The Life Aquatic is that the majority of the characters are often seen sporting the same outfit. The team Zissou uniform is so distinguishable and easy to replicate that anyone can look like an explorer with a little bit of red and blue! To dress as Klaus however, you must make a small modification by sporting a blue turtleneck instead of a button up shirt, and shorts instead of pants. If really want to be an ~individual~, you can abandon the matching gear all together by only wearing a wetsuit.

To dress as Alistair Hennessey you will need to look seriously sophisticated. With a salmon (not pink, salmon) coloured scarf, white dress shirt, round-rimmed glasses and white suit set, you will have no trouble channeling the suave and rich nemesis of Captain Zissou.
