Everyone loves a good cat shirt, that much I know. Updating your cat shirt into a super-epic-one-of-a-kind cat shirt is the trick, though. Inspired by the latest Shaun Samson runway show, this super simple DIY project is your ticket into cat shirt badass territory. You’ve been warned!
The ~Inspiration~

What you’ll need

- Cat shirt (duh)
- Pliers
- Jump Rings – I got a package of 60 and used most of them. Available at your local craft store in the jewelry making section.
- Sewing needle – The thicker, the better

Start by determining where you want your first earring to be. Puncture the shirt with your sewing needle in two spots. A fair distance apart so that the holes won’t meet and your jumper ring will fit comfortably between the two.

Twist your jump ring (with or without pliers) and feed it through the two holes you’ve just created. Having a hand on the inside of the shirt to guide it through is helpful.

Use your pliers to close the jump ring. Make sure the ring is entirely closed. If both sides aren’t completely flush, you run the risk of losing your rings later on! Be careful!

Repeat, repeat, repeat! Decide where you want the rest of your piercings and go for it. You’ll really get into a rhythm and you’ll be done in no time. Think lips, nose, ears…eyes? Wherever you see fit.
There you have it! A super simple, super affordable DIY project! But why stop there? Why not pierce your bear shirt, or your eagle shirt, or your wolf shirt? The possibilities are literally endless.
Sidenote: One thing to me mindful of is the care of your garment. I haven’t yet tried to wash it, but I’m planning on just hand washing it. It could be a bit dangerous with a whole load of laundry. Just something to think about!
Well, have fun and happy DIYing!
