Lately we’ve been seeing our Bad Gal RiRi everywhere, and not just because of her new album and the ANTI World Tour. Along with dominating the music scene, she seems to be single-handedly taking over the fashion industry- and that makes us super happy.
In celebration of Rihanna’s collaboration with Manolo Blahnik that launched TODAY (meaning, if you’re trying to get a pair, you don’t have long), we put together a timeline of Rihanna’s ~adventure thus far~ into the fashion industry.
In 2012, Rihanna launched her sultry scent Rebelle, creating our *signature scent* of 2012.
In 2013, RiRi launched a spring, fall and holiday collection with clothing label River Island showing her first ventures into fashion collaborations.
That same year, she launched her first collaboration with MAC Makeup, and it was so successful they launched another one in the fall of 2014.
Cut to the end of 2014: Rihanna shows up to the CFDA awards in a completely see through glittering Adam Selman dress. Wins fashion icon of the year award. No one is surprised.
In 2015 Rihanna added “Sock Designer” to her resume by collaborating with Stance twice that year, and again for a third time in 2016.
Flash forward to today: Rihanna is the creative director of Puma and has increased their sales by 7.3%. It doesn’t matter what RiRi makes – they all sell out in seconds. From sneakers, to creepers, to slides, to a whole clothing line, she can do no wrong.
A TIMELINE OF RIHANNA’S FASHION JOURNEY:
Her collection with Manolo Blahnik almost seems to fall into the timeline perfectly. She’s already known for her athleisure shoe collections that the world has just eaten up, so when she announced another shoe collection, but this time with a high-end designer who is more than famous for his shoes, the fashion world fell right into the palm of her hand. And although they come with a high price tag, we know that won’t stop hungry shoppers from getting their claws on a pair. We don’t know about you, but we’re seriously wishing we had a few thousand dollars to drop on shoes right now *cries*. Check out the gorgeous collection, that features thigh high boots with a belt, cowboy stilettos, and two adorable heels, below.
