Airplane Beauty Hacks: In-Flight Essentials

Travel can be a killer on your beauty routine. Airplanes, buses and trains are all extremely stuffy and can dry out your skin (and let’s be honest—you always feel super gross after a few hours stuck in a seat surrounded by strangers).

That’s why when you travel you have to switch up your products and find ones that will keep you *shining bright* even in the dullest airport lighting. So before you head out the door on your next adventure, check out our list of the best beauty products for travelling!

LIP BALM

If you only manage to bring one thing from this list—make sure it’s a lip balm. There’s nothing worse than sitting on a plane with chapped lips for hours with no fix. Pick one that’s creamy and extra moisturizing to help combat the dry plane air.

AROMATHERAPY

Flying through the sky in a metal tube full of recycled air tends to make the questionable smells…linger. Save yourself from having to deal with a smelly seatmate by packing some aromatherapy in your carry-on. You can rub it on your wrists and neck to help you relax and dab a little under your nose to prevent having to smell the actual plane air (pro tip: these convenient rollerballs also double as an easy travel perfume).

MINI DEODORANT

Travel can be extremely stressful. So many things can go wrong that can leave you feeling pretty anxious, and when we stress we sweat. Pack a mini deodorant in your carry on to avoid one extra stress and to keep you feeling—and smelling—fresh.

HAND SANITIZER

Travel is not the cleanest activity. You’re going to come into contact with tons of unfriendly bacteria—and no one wants to get sick on holiday. Pack a hand sanitizer to protect yourself from those pesky germs and stay clean and healthy when you travel.

FACE MASKS

It takes a lot of confidence to wear a sheet mask in public, but chances are you’ll never see the people around you again. The face mask will help counteract any grime that tries to seep into your pores on the plane and a sheet mask is an easy mess-free way to relax. If you don’t want to scare your seatmate, the airplane/airport washroom is always a nice private option!

MOISTURIZER

A good face moisturizer is a must. It will save your skin from drying out and keep you feeling fresh. Skip your light face creams and go for a heavy duty moisturizer that will feel luxurious on your skin in the stuffy air.

HAND CREAM

Another way to combat skin dryness is with a strong hand cream. Give your hands a little extra lovin’ with a luxurious cream made just for them.
