Crusin’ down the fast line towards the last stop of the #EtsyRoadTrip seemed like an appropriate time to reminisce on every 90s girl’s favourite road trip flick: Crossroads. In retrospect, our adventures with Team Etsy are (v. loosely) comparable to my teenage guilty pleasure; all roads leading to adventure, good tunes, and most of all ~friendship~. Obviously this makes me the Britney Spears of our off-screen excursion. Not so obviously our hometown proved the perfect backdrop to our tourist-for-a-day foray into all things handmade. Armed with all the tech gear two fashion girls can carry (see above video) we loaded our instax mini, packing extra film for good measure. In the true spirit of FORA, no cookie, cactus, or cuddly pup would go unphotographed.

Seeing as ice cream has become the *unofficial* overarching theme of our trip (re: part one, part two), it’s only natural that we became instant fans of Nail Kandy’s custom polish collection Ice Cream Shop. With names like “Mint Chip” and “Banana Split” we’ll take two of everything, please! Rosanna opted for a pink shade called “Strawberry Cream” (right). Mentally I added it to my list of “Cool Things To Borrow From Rosanna” right alongside the handmade necklace from Forestière.
Next we spotted our go-to gurl for floral head gear: Jordan de Ruiter. In an attempt to recreate Spring Break ’13, the Crossroads Britney Spears in me couldn’t resist donning her white daisy crown around the marketplace (left). It was a good day.
Strutting around in a floral crown, the smell of Beaver Tails in the air, we never had it so good. That was until we caught wind of the free cookies from The iBakery. A few cookie selfies and a photo booth moustache later we made a pact to never go home. #EtsyRoadTrip4Ever
Dressed for the occasion in an Etsy-orange bandana, FORA’s favourite husky puppy stopped by for a churro. Pretty soon the airstream became a hub for infusive puppies and humans alike. Against the cobblestone walkways, its identifiable orange popped in the otherwise muted Distillery District.
At the end of the day we were sad to head home, but happy to have met such cool friends along the way. We can hardly wait for our next adventure with our BFFs at Etsy. I propose Hawaii… are you in?!
