But Lena Dunham’s “Girls” addresses many other issues that are very relevant and realistic to people, namely girls.

Largely deemed this generation’s “Sex and the City,” “Girls” is just as controversial as it is hilariously funny and inappropriate. However, our discussion about it today is far from another review citing it as crude, awkward, and horrific. Rather, it is what we believe to be a semi-realistic depiction of the life of an average, 20-something girl just trying to figure everything out.

After all, who hasn’t run into one or more of the following less-than-ideal/awesome situations in their lifetime?

1)  Your boyfriend likes you too much and it’s making your life really difficult

2)  You can’t score a job because you casually mention date rape in an interview… and that is just distasteful

3)  As a result of year-long unpaid internships, you are broke and often feel compelled to steal the tip your parents left for their cleaning lady

4)  You accidentally lost the kids you were babysitting

5)  Your best friend’s boyfriend reads your journal and proceeds to perform a song using your words as the lyrics

6)  You kind of look like a walking thrift shop in the most ethereal way possible. Somewhat intentional, but generally more of a purposeful attempt of not looking like you stepped out of “Gossip Girl”

7)  You made fun of someone who abbreviated the word “sorry” to “sry” via text message

8)  You initially demanded $20 for cab fare and then upped it to $30 because you decided you wanted pizza and gum as well

9)  You found out your ex-boyfriend now prefers the sexual company of males

10)  You do frequent and way-too-specific Google searches pertaining to obscene topics
