There’s no lack of denim in thrift stores – most of it’s terrible, some of it’s wearable. So it’s no surprise that as I pulled this piece off the rack to inspect further, my expectations weren’t very high.
It’s not often you hear the words ‘denim trench coat’ together, and even less often you see one (except perhaps in late night re-runs of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly). But this little number looked far more Westwood than Eastwood!
Its snug fit and immaculate condition was all the persuasion I needed to hand over my loose change ($14) and take it home with me.
Vintage/Thrift/2nd Hand/ Pre-loved/Op-shopping is one of my favourite past-times. I love that thrill of finding a gem in the rubble, and the curiosity of who the previous owner was. I love seeing potential in something that someone else didn’t and the feeling I get from owning something that can’t be found down at the local shopping mall. And of course, I love a bargain!
Having said that, I look forward to keeping you up to date with my vintage finds, and proving that even the oldest pieces in your wardrobe can be given new life.
Until next time, be adventyourous, be younique and be you…
