PERFORM A PATCH TEST
Before you start doing anything to your hair, take the chemical formulas from the dyes and apply a small amount to an easily hidden patch of skin. Wait 24-48 hours and look for signs for redness, itchiness or swelling.
PROTECT YOUR SKIN AND CLOTHES
Wrap a towel around your shoulders to catch any drips, hair dye can stain clothing, so wearing your favourite t-shirt isn’t recommended. Next, put your gloves on to protect your skin while working with the chemicals.
MIX YOUR FORMULA
After you’ve protected your skin and clothes and done the patch test, you’re ready to start dyeing. Mix the chemicals from bottles labelled one and three into bottle two. Secure lid onto bottle number two, place your index finger over the hole and give it a good shake, shake, shake.
START AT THE ROOTS
Begin applying the dye to your roots with the applicator bottle, massaging dye into your scalp with finger tips. Carefully work in 1-inch sections until you’ve covered all your roots.
DO THE MID-SHAFTS TO ENDS
Apply the remainder of the hair dye to 1-inch sections—starting at the mid shaft, massage hair dye down into your ends. Start at the back of your head and work your way to the front to help keep things tidy.
PROCESS AND FINISH
Once hair dye has processed for 25 minutes, rinse thoroughly in the shower, shampoo one to two times and follow up with conditioner. Towel dry hair, air form to desired style and enjoy your new look!
