5 Halloween Costumes For Your Girl Squad

Halloween is right around the corner and time is running out for you and your girlfriends to decide on a group costume. If you’ve been messaging about co-ordinated costume ideas in the group chat, but haven’t decided on a winning look, don’t worry, we have you covered. Throw these five show-stopping costume ideas for your girl squad in the group chat and get ready to slay this Halloween.

THE CHEETAH GIRLS

Disney Channel’s girl group Cheetah girls were all about girl power, independence and WOC in charge. Their signature look would be a great look for your crew, especially if you want to express your individuality while still coordinating outfits (honestly, the dream). Colourful tracksuits and cheetah print head bands are all you need to nail this look. RAWR.

MEAN GIRLS

This ~fetch~ look requires minimal effort and can even be DIYed if you kept any of your clothes from the 2000s. All you’ll need is a fitted pink sweater, boot cut pants, and pumps. A mini purse will also fare well with this costume idea–Louis Vuitton preferred, of course.

[Boohoo Pink Bodysuit, $18.50][Gap Bootcut Jeans, $35][Aldo Heels, $42.50]

TLC’S “CREEP” VIDEO

R&B trio TLC were a force to be reckoned with. So, who better to impersonate for the night than the best of the best? The music video for CrazySexyCool‘s “Creep” features the woman singing and dancing in silk pajamas. To effectively imitate this look, all you’ll need is a pair of silk or satin pajamas in various colors depending on the amount of women in your crew. And maybe a little synchronized dance routine for some artistic flare. Bonus- you’re good to just flop into bed as soon as the night is over.

[Satin Pajamas, $29]

DESTINY’S CHILD “SURVIVOR” VIDEO

Destiny’s child delivered feminist anthem “Survivor” in 2001. The track encouraged women to overcome their struggles and push forward in the face of adversity. The equally empowering music video showed the women somewhere in the South Pacific, slaying in tattered clothes, fur pelts and eventually in all-camo fits. For this look, mix and match army green with camouflage coloured clothing such as mini skirts, capri pants, and crop tees.

[North Face Capris, $69][Camo Vans, $55][Fashionova Camo Tube Top, $13]

TAYLOR SWIFT’S CAT BURGLARS

Last year, Taylor gave us the Bad Blood squad to dress up as. This year, she’s given us a plethora of squads to choose from in her “Look What You Made Me Do.” video. From the army of plastics to her biker gang to her squad of Old Taylor’s, there’s no shortage of inspo here. For her ring of accomplices in the bank robbery scene, you’ll need bold crew necks, cat masks and loads of cash.

[Kenzo Sweater Dress, $395][Boohoo Thigh-High Boots, $60][Baseball Bat, $20][Gildan Crew Necks, $11]
