Remember the days when your mom would wake you up for school, your breakfast would be made, your lunch was packed and your school bag was ready and waiting at the door? The only thing you had to worry about was keeping your tamagotchi alive while successfully hiding it from the teacher. While we (SADLY) can’t bring those times back, fashion allows us to relive some parts of those carefree days.
We were feeling particularly nostalgic at FORA when news hit that adult light up shoes are a thing, so we decided to revisit our fashion choices from days WAY past and see what childhood staple pieces have crept their way into being acceptable fashion choices for young professionals today.

Did backpacks really ever leave us? The answer (for me anyway) is no. My taste in backpacks has (thankfully) changed throughout the years though. From the colourful Jansport to the now chic and sophisticated leather bag.
The original Facebook. Giving out friendship bracelets was the friend request of days past. Fortunately for us 90’s babies, friendship bracelets are still here, they’re just way less ratty. Unfortunately for us 90’s babies, they’re a lot more pricey #studentdebtforever.
Headbands kept the hair out of our eyes when we were rolling around in the dirt pretending to be Sailor Moon. Now they serve as a fashion statement that says “I’m sophisticated enough to pull this off. And yes, I still wish I was Sailor Moon”.
