ANASTASIA LIN, 25
This Chinese-born Canadian Model, actress and Pageant Queen has dedicated her career to speaking out on the human rights issues of her home country. Even after the Chinese government denied her right to compete in the Miss Worlds pageant, she continues to fight for justice by delivering inspiring talks and acting in informational movies. We think this girl deserves a cape instead of a crown, because she’s our hero.
With her killer style and enviable fierceness, this newly turned 19 year old also used her celeb status to make a difference this year! She critiqued the media on their representation of black culture, stood up against racial injustice, and helped raise funds for AIDS orphans in South Africa, you go girl.
AMANDLA STERBERG, 17
17 year old Amandla constantly amazes us with wisdom from beyond her years! She’s not afraid to speak her mind and has schooled all of us, including a few choice celebs, on cultural appropriation in 2015. We love following her Instagram for our daily dose of fierceness and are already obsessing over her Teen Vogue February cover and interview with Solange.
KIA NURSE, 19
We can’t leave badass #ballers like Kia Nurse off the list. As the reigning rookie on Canada’s senior women team for the last three year, Kia had a stellar 2015 participating in the Pan-Am games, winning MVP of the tournament and securing us a ticket to Rio with a 20 point performance!

This Philisophical Alien goddess has come a long way since she stared whipping her hair back and forth. Listening to her music and ideas always make us feel smarter and enlightened, even if we don’t fully understand it.
TAVI GEVINSON, 19
As if there was any way to compare all of these #girlboss achievements, we’re going out on a limb and saying 2015 was Tavi Gevinsons year! She successfully published the final Rookie Yearbook, starred on a Broadway show alongside Michael Cera and is killing it at NYU; all with the poise and grace of the ethereal fairy goddess she is.

She’s made some major successes this year, walking in high profile fashion shows and gracing magazine covers with her model besties. But her biggest accomplishment? We like to think holding the title of most liked Instagram photo is a pretty big deal, all hail Kween Kendall.
ROWAN BLANCHARD, 14
Besides starring in the reboot of our fave 90’s Disney’s show, 13 year old Rowan also speaks years ahead of her time on important social justice issues. We were recently moved by an Instagram post from a short time ago on her struggles with depression that is definitely worth a read.
ELLIE BLACK, 20
This record breaking Olympic gymnast puts in mad work to make Canada proud. Ellie took home 5 medals at the most recent Pan Am games in Toronto and posted 7th in the all-around competition in Glasgow Scotland qualifying her for Rio 2016! We can’t wait to cheer her on!
MADDIE ZIEGLER, 13
For Dance Moms fans, we remember little Maddie always winning and coming out on top. It was no surprise to see her as Sia’s right hand girl, crushing records and receiving grammy noms. I’m sure we’ve all had our moments alone, in front of the mirror, working out our inner dance gods to the tune of Elastic Heart. We can definitely thank Maddie for that.
JAZZ JENNINGS, 15
2015 was a breakthrough year for trans rights with tons of celebrity role models stepping forward to bring awareness and start positive conversations. 15 year old Jazz Jennings has been sharing her transition story since 2007, and this year her platform grew tremendously, releasing both a children’s book and television series! We are so proud of this young spokeswoman for sharing her journey with the world.
ARIEL WINTER, 17
We were first introduced to a young bespectacled Ariel on the Emmy award winning show Modern Family. Over the years, we watched her grow into a gorgeous gal, exuding everything role models are made of. Over this past year Ariel publicly opened up about her decision to undergo breast reduction surgery, and squashed body shammers and internet bullies. She continues to be a positive force for young girls to look up to.

Standing 5.5 million followers strong on Instagram and 9.7 million in youtube subscribers, Bethany uses her platform to speak out against internet bullying and Mota-vates her followers to be confident in themselves!
SELENA GOMEZ, 23
Nicki warned us a long time ago to ‘keep an eye out for Selenerrr’, and we can only assume she was foreseeing Gomez’s recent rise to musical/fashion/all around perfection. Even though she left her wizarding ways behind a long time ago, her new album is magical, and we drool over every outfit she wears. May Selena continue to slay 2016 (prayer hands emoji)
MARGARET ZHANG, 22
As a law student, 22 year old Margaret Zhang is as smart as she is stylish. Her wildly popular blog, Shine by Three, was started when she was only 16. She quickly became an Instagram queen. Victoria also recently landed a role in the remake of Rocky Horror Picture show as the iconic “Janet”, let’s hope she does the character… Justice
EMMA ROBERTS, 24
She didn’t ask us to pull down her panties and blow a compliment up her butt, but we’re going to anyways. We credit Emma Roberts for the most quotable character on TV this season as Chanel Oberlin in Scream Queens. Stand strong Kappa Kappa Tau sisters, Chanel #1 is always watching.
OLIVIA HALLISEY, 17
At just 17 years old Olivia won the Google Science Fair competition, beating out people from over 100 countries to earn a 50,000 scholarship.
