Today is International Women’s Day, and it’s no secret that we live and breath #GIRLPOWER around here. It’s also no secret that we’re just a little obsessed with Toronto artist RALPH. She’s already set the mood with us in studio, and now she’s back to set the mood for your International Women’s Day with a specially curated Spotify playlist!
**WOMXN** was created by RALPH to celebrate all female-identifying humans.
“Using the word “womxn” as opposed to “female” or even “womyn” is important because it extends to all female-identifying humans,” said Ralph. “As a feminist, I’m always trying to further educate myself so that I don’t exclude my listeners and fans. I’m so proud to have a diverse audience reaching out to me about how my music touches them, so I want to honour and respect them always.”
What can you expect when listening to **WOMXN**? Ralph says —
“I truly do listen to so many female artists, so putting together this playlist wasn’t hard at all. I wanted to combine some of my favorite oldies (Stevie Nicks, Kate Bush, Bonnie Raitt) with some contemporary artists that I’m really excited about (Jorja Smith, SZA, Sabrina Claudio, Billie Eilish, Syd) while also giving a nod to some of my favorite Canadian gal pals (Charlotte Cardin, A L L I E, Tika, Saya). These womxn all inspire me and challenge me to work harder, so I hope my listeners enjoy their tunes and hopefully discover some new amazing female artists to listen to. There’s so many out there!!”

Aside from curating womxn worshiping playlists, RALPH is also set to release a full-length album this year. The lead track ‘September Fades’ just came out yesterday, and we were already crooning it out in the shower this morning. Listen and watch the dreamy retro video here!
