Anyone who knows me, knows I know my man buns. I’m kind of particular when it comes to the type of bun a man is sporting. However, I’m easily won over. Sure a perfect, low, artist’s man bun is basically a work of art, but the less than perfect buns out there also deserve a little lovin’. A curiously coiffed man bun inspires intrigue and fills us with wonder, so let’s take our hats off (or rather, their hats off), and applaud the weird man bun and the efforts made by their proprietors.

Alex the Great, aka. the lead singer of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, has cultivated a highly peculiar arrangement of hair a-top his head. I would deem this man bun as Victorian inspired, as it is reminiscent of the up-do’s worn by the Gibson Girl’s of the 1890’s. Despite its strangeness, I’m still totally digging this man bun.
This man bun is like no other. Here, Bradley fearlessly attempts the double man bun *PAUSE FOR REACTION*. It takes heaps of chutzpah and a ton of confidence for a man to undertake this kind of bun. I feel as though the double bun is a rare sighting, and perhaps Bradley’s isn’t even the best his gender has to offer (no offence Brad). Im envisioning a really cool double samurai bun that I seriously hope I can catch a glimpse of in the near future.
If you’re unsure of who Marco Perego is, then let me enlighten you. He is Zoe Saldana’s husband and he has a truly magnificent man bun. Marco, a ridiculously handsome Italian artist, has established a very unique man bun as part of his look. This messy, upside down, two-tone man bun, is sure to be the envy of any yoga-goer, as this is the perfect, and immense bun that any yogi desires to achieve. I would gladly lend Marco a hair tie if I was lucky enough to be namaste-ing next to him.
Mr. Gyllenhaal’s man bun isn’t all that strange, it’s just in kind of an awkward phase before it reached its full potential. This depiction of its transformation is the perfect example of the evolution of a ‘boy bun’ to a full-grown ‘man bun’. Thank you Jake for teaching us this valuable lesson.
Leo’s man bun/pony hybrid may be the most puzzling of them all. It’s not QUITE a man bun, but since it possesses the same intrigue, charm and charisma I’ve decided to include it. This man bun is on the smaller size, and seems to only make an appearance when out frolicking in the ocean or on a yacht (as these hybrids often do). Leo is one of those Hollywood dream boats that can do no wrong in my mind, and if he wants to rock a man bun/pony cross-breed, then I certainly won’t try to stop him.
