Where did hipsters come from? They’re cool-aloof-elusiveness traces its origins to 1985, in a town called Split in the former Yugoslavia. Present-day hipsters find the most similarities to between themselves and these subjects. Split and it’s youth culture were unlike any other city on the Croatian Adriatic coast, and it showed. Exposed legs, Levi’s jeans, Coca-Cola and uncensored movies “A socialist paradise!”. And of course, the most telling tip off of a hipster, their fashion.
