The 10 Best Movies To Get Over A Breakup

They don’t call it heart~break~ for nothin’, because breakups can leave you feeling pretty broken. But don’t be so weary, we compiled a list of the best movies to get over a breakup. With everything from the conventional (Legally Blonde) to the extreme (Kill Bill), find solace in these films’ heroines.

1. KILL BILL: VOL. 1 (2003)

Rather than being petty and acting out on something you might regret, let Uma Thurman channel your vengeance and slay all those on her hit list, including her jealous ex-lover Bill (David Carradine).

2. AMÉLIE (2001)

In this beloved French film, Audrey Tatou plays an imaginative and mischievous waitress who decides to interfere with (and hopefully improve) other peoples’ lives. Amélie proves that spending time alone can be warm and full of life.

Let this BAMF duo remind you who the most important relationship is—your ride or die AKA your best friend.

4. EAT PRAY LOVE (2010)

After a major life change, travelling may seem like the only solution to find yourself. Feel wanderlust with Julia Roberts as she goes to Italy, India and Bali.

5. THE HOLIDAY (2006)

After two women have bad breakups with their boyfriends, they swap homes during Christmastime ‘cause that’s what you do, right? But, nothing could have been more awkward than when Kate Winslet and Rufus Sewell, who play Iris and Jasper, had previously dated IRL.

Forget your EX with this classic comedy (and seeing Jason Segal nude).

7. HEATHERS (1988)

This totally ‘80s film teaches you that sometimes the people stuck in your life are toxic. Plus, no one can forget Winona Ryder telling Christian Slater that all she wants is “Cool dudes like you out of my life.”

What would you do if you found out your boyfriend had two side baes? Team up with them and conspire to break his heart, of course.

Relationships are hard, even for Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling as they do a downward spiral in this film.

Elle Woods is the epitome of not needing a man. Letting go of dead weight, building self-respect and gaining success will help you move on and be the best version of yourself. Feel super motivated to pursue life goals whether you want to run a marathon or hustle even harder at work.
