It’s after Labour Day people! And while I don’t usually subscribe to a strict no-white rule I do believe if you’re going to do white, do it right! What up Tim Gunn?
Apparently Julianna Margulies didn’t get the memo. The ‘Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series’ winner chose a white Armani Prive gown for last night’s festivities, however, the gown would have been better suited for a Halloween party to which she dressed up as a disco ball. I mean what is up with those massive clear eggs all over her dress? How are they esthetically pleasing? And the fit? Why must the bodice be shaped like a basket? It’s not like her cleavage needed the extra room; she’s no Christina Hendricks.
Moving right along to Taraji P. Henson (best known for her role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) who chose this shimmery Blumarine gown. Not only was Taraji’s involvement in the Emmy-tones utterly embarrassing, but the ill fit of this sheath deems her 0 and 2 on the night. I will not comment on her hair as I may be bordering on bullying.
Model Heidi Klum didn’t fare much better in this Project Runway Alum Christian Siriano’s gown. The volume is mind-boggling; and not in a good way. We were fans of his Spring 2011 showing at NYFW but were not a fan of this … thing.
Meanwhile Mad Men won big but, simply put, Elizabeth Moss did not. The dress itself, a Marchesa, isn’t horrible. But the look as a whole ages Liz who is still just 29 years young. Did she borrow Barbara Walter’s hair stylist for the night?
